De Ghost Town

Needles penetrating the skin,
While blood drops keep trickling down.
There is no sensation that pains me.
Your absence is the only infliction
That causes my heart rate to rise.

I am filled with this heat
From which I get no release.
It spreads as the day turns into night,
It is the mirrored reflection of your last breath
When you went from this life to the next.

Cold water soothes the burns
As revelry put out the fire
Delaying the explosion within.
Many have passed through this town,
Where everyone's name has been forgotten

I stood in the center
And took off all my clothes.
No one turned,
Just as you screamed your head off
And no one heard.
